She made her debut as actor in 1997 at the age 13 years old. The actress made her debut when she was 13 years old in 1997. Following her studies in the field and working as a back-up actor in Canadian programs like Road to Avonlea, Harriet the Spy and Goosebumps, she was given an interview on the Canadian horror show Are You scared of the Dark? and Goosebumps. The series was aired on YTV. There were commercials followed by appearances as a guest star in Mutant X, Prom Queen: The Marc Hall Story, Goosebumps, Twice in a Lifetime, Doc, Sue Thomas: F.B.Eye, Troubled Waters, The Dresden Files, and several Disney Channel original movies (Mom's Had a Date with a Vampire and Alley Cats Strike), aged 19, at York University, where she studied Psychology and English,[1] Vandervoort was offered the lead role of Sadie Harrison in the CTV Teen Drama series Instant Star and was on for four seasons. Vandervoort's first film, The Lookout, was launched in 2006. The film starred Jeff Daniels along with Matthew Goode as well as Isla Fischer. Several other television appearances including CSI: Crime Scene Investigation resulted in Vandervoort to play Clark Kent's Kryptonian cousin "Kara Kent" (the woman destined to become Supergirl) in The CW serial drama Smallville. The season 7 episode was the first time she became a regular on the series. The episode she appeared on was "Bloodline" in episode from the eighth season. She returned to Smallville for two more episodes during the final season, which was also her 10th season. [4] Following The CW and Smallville, Vandervoort shot the follow-up to the feature film Into the Blue titled Into the Blue 2: The Reef. The Jazzman was her next independent film. The film also starred Canadian stars Michael Ironside and Corey Sevier.
