Seasons 1-8 will see shippers make bids for two shipments listed on the uShip website. It is a reverse auction format. Bids are usually made with comments about the likely risks and the costs and also the motivations and potential capabilities. The job is usually awarded to the lowest bidder after the auction has ended. At the discretion of the client, it can be given to a higher bidder who has received a higher ratings from previous customers. Feedback ratings are used to break any connections between the bidders with the lowest price. Season 9 shippers are able to receive their cargo via the services of a shipping broker. They do not see the bidding process. Instead winners load the cargo and try and deliver it intact within the timeframe of the client or receiver. After the cargo has been delivered, the feedback ratings are displayed from clients. The show ends with each shipper's earnings and expenses. are subtracted from the bid to calculate the total profits or losses. Sometimes, shippers offer to carry additional loads on the same journey. This extra amount is added into their total. Sometimes the shipper may be in a position to not complete the task due to concerns about load size/weight or road safety. Sometimes, one of the shippers will employ the assistance of another shipper to finish a task. The shippers will then decide what they'll do with the proceeds. In seasons 1-8 the progression of each shipment is interspersed with funny criticisms from the other shippers.
